The judicial officer

The rates for the acts and interventions performed by the judicial officers in civil and commercial matters are set by the Royal Decree of 30/11/1976. In criminal matters, the Royal Decree of 23/08/2015 applies.

The amounts set by these Royal Decrees are indexed annually.

You can consult the current rates on the website of the National Chamber of Judicial officers.

The amounts set by the Royal Decrees are a matter of public policy: the judicial officers are not entitled to claim a higher amount, but also not a lower amount. This guarantees equal treatment of all individuals.

Besides, since the 1st of January 2012, judicial officers are subject to VAT.
